The World is a Playground with Adventure Travels

The days when being adventurous on holiday meant eating authentic food or having a go on the banana boat are long gone. We want more from our vacations and adventure travels have to provide this. That isn’t to say that they have to be extreme and that we need to be climbing Everest or swimming with sharks, it’s just that we are no longer happy to spend our holidays just sitting on the beach.
The best way to see a country is to travel through it. Rather than taking the bus or train, why not think about doing some cycling. Specialist cycling tours are available all over the world from Vietnam to Germany and all you have to do is book and turn up. Everything is provided, except for the clothes, and there is often a support vehicle following along to pick up any exhausted party members. Accommodation is organized in advance so you are sure to get a good night’s sleep, ready for the following day’s two wheel exploring.
Of course you don’t have to book an organized tour and you might decide to make your own plans. If this is the case, make sure to do plenty of research on the area that you are heading to. That way you will get the most from your tour.
Hiking is another great way to see the countryside and, as with cycling, there are lots of tours available. Whether you fancy following in the footsteps of backpackers across Mexico or Thailand or make your own plans in Bulgaria or Ireland, there is plenty to see and do when you are on foot.
If you are not fancying all this exercise and would rather have your adventure in a comfortable seat then why not consider visiting one of Europe’s top opera houses to see the show. Several travel companies now offer trips to some of the best classical venues in the world with the show ticket included. Adventure travels (or as the Danes say oplevelsesrejser)  do not have to be uncomfortable, you just need to feel that you are having an adventure and seeing a top performance which is an adventure in itself. Think about Vienna or Rome and you get not only the dance and music and singing, but also the great food. So make sure to book a top restaurant while you are there.
For those of you that enjoy a bit of culture when you are on your vacation then why not think about taking a wine tour. You can spend a few days visiting vineyards and sampling their produce. You could go “new world” in America or Australia or stick to the old methods in France or Germany. There are very few countries in the world today that don’t produce wine so the choice is yours. This has to be an adventure travels holiday that we would all enjoy. Even if you don’t like wine the scenery is sure to be stunning.
So forget the beach holiday and avoid the extreme vacation. Just pick adventure travels that you think you will enjoy and join the crowds of happy holiday makers.
