Police catch up with a man wanted on a warrant for over a year - and decide not to arrest him, Perry Booth, wanted over a racially-aggravated offence in Dewsbury, was in a poor state of health.

Police decided not to arrest a man wanted on a warrant for over a year because he was too frail.

Perry Booth was last year charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence. The alleged incident happened while he was trying to rent a flat in Dewsbury.

When he was unimpressed with the costs given to him by an estate agent he allegedly made racist comments.
Booth had been due to appear at Kirklees Magistrates' Court for the first time on January 18 last year to answer a plea to the charge.
When he failed to show up a warrant without bail was executed for his arrest and this had been outstanding for over a year.
On the March 22nd magistrates were asked by Hertfordshire Constabulary to withdraw the warrant.

They were told that the police went to Booth's home and decided that it was not appropriate to arrest him. He was described as having serious complications to his internal organs and an oxygen ventilator to assist him.

Booth said he was willing to come to court by himself and magistrates agreed to withdraw the warrant.

They adjourned his case until April 16th when he will be expected to attend.

I will destroy you" man allegedly told estate agent in a racist rant

Perry Booth denies any wrongdoing at Reeds Rains Estate Agents in Dewsbury. A man has appeared in court over an alleged racist rant at an estate agent.

The incident is said to have taken place at Reeds Rains Estate Agents in Dewsbury on April 22 in 2016
Perry Booth, 59, denies a charge of using racially aggravated threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to fear that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them.

Prosecutor Andy Wills told Kirklees magistrates that Booth was at the estate agents but didn't appreciate the deal being offered to him by a member of staff. He allegedly accused him of robbing people and shouted: "You f*****g P**i c**t, I will destroy you." Booth, of Widbury Hill in Ware, Hertfordshire, admits presence but totally denies using any racial slurs, his solicitor Erica Topham said.

His trial will take place at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on September 20.
This is due to his wife being a well-known solicitor in the West Yorkshire area.

On 20 December Booth was fined £600 with a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85 after pleading guilty.
