Title: Does a fixed week member of DRI have to sell to another member
Post by: petty on April 09, 2017, 02:03:12
Hi All

Does anyone know what are these rules I have been seeing a lot lately on the internet regarding DRI, although we know about the age, death, or bankrupt rules, I am seeing something else regarding one who wants to sell their timeshare independently. What they are saying is that you have to sell to another member only and that is DRI rules.

With such a little membership this would be hard, I got my weeks from another member and I wasn't a member then until I purchased them, so why would I, if wished not be able to do the same thing, unless the person who posted this information got this wrong, can anyone confirm this.

Thanks

Points can only be sold member to member or via the Diamond approved reseller which is Travel & Leisure.
Weeks can be sold to anybody whatsoever.
Similarly weeks can be exchanged with any exchange company.
Points owners can only use the internal exchange system or Interval International.
It would seem that what you have heard is what points holders can, or cannot, do.
Weeks are treated differently.
I hope that this clarifies it for you.
