The resort is a collection of apartment buildings and villas, interspersed with multiple pools and next to Turkey Lake, just off I4 Orlando, FL.

Finding the right exit off I4 was a problem - no frontage road on this Interstate - but once you're on Turkey Lake Road, it's pretty easy to find Westlake. Nothing much to see from the road, it all being pretty flat country here, but the access road leads you right to a fully serviced check-in area.
The area is quiet and resort security does not tolerate late night rowdiness. There are no banana boats. You'll need a car to get to anything more than the on site restaurant.

24 hour reception, free coffee.
It's usual to provide credit card details on arrival if you want to get a charge card.  The staff were all polite, well mannered and very welcoming.

We own a 3-bed lock-off (2-bed apartment plus separate 1-bed apartment, can be banked and exchanged independently) and the internal facilities are superb. Master bedroom has an inset whirlpool bath with columns as an ensuite! Huge bed, almost as big as the flat-screen TV. Another TV in the second bedroom and of course, a media centre in the lounge. Open plan living room, fully fitted kitchen with washer/dryer and dishwasher, electric cooker and fridge/freezer. Microwave/coffee machine/kettle. Service for 8. Dining table and chairs plus bench.
The lounge had a coffee table, leather corner seating unit and a couple of easy chairs. In addition to this there was a digital TV and a DVD player.
All bedrooms en-suite.
Fully air-conditioned.

We also had balcony with lounging furniture, properly screened from the flies.

Tennis courts (4), minature golf, swimming pools (7), basketball, volleyball, pedalo boat & canoe hire, gym & a full spa (didn't use that myself). Also, bicycle hire, kiddies play areas. On-site restaurant, supermarket & of course, no end of food delivery services! There is a day-time entertainment program during peak season (e.g. drawing competition for kids, learn how to make pasta) but no show bar or disco.

Smokies Grill is billed as one of Orlando's best barbeque restaurants, which locally means grilled meats doused in sweet sticky sauce. Some people love it. Regular steaks & salads were excellent. Not cheap, but priced appropriately. Each pool has a bar & snack food available.

There is plenty of car parking.

Other comments:
Very clean and well maintained resort. It is one of Westgate's main sales areas so they look after things very well.

There was little noise from other residents. In fact, sometimes it was just a little too quiet; you wondered where everyone was!

Not a place from which to walk - everything is very far away. There's a free shuttle bus from one end of the resort to the other and there (seemed to be) buses to/from the theme parks and International Drive. We had a hire car and did the american thing - we drove everywhere.

Overall view:
We've used it as a base for the parks and also exchanged into it while attending a week-long conference - far cheaper than hotel rooms for me and some colleagues. We've also banked our weeks and exhanged to other resorts in Europe through Interval International, but by comparison, everywhere else has been a disappointment in terms of facilities and service.
