Seasons timeshare resorts
« on: February 27, 2013, 13:33:56 »
Seasons own 6 resorts in the UK and two resorts in Europe and have a hotel in bath and one in County Durham. Seasons owners have the advantage of accessing 2-3 night breaks within there system.

Are there any Seasons owners who would like to share their experiences for the benefit of those considering Seasons or have recently joined.
Timeshare is a great concept and you will enjoy a lifetime of holidays as long as you own the right product to suit your holiday style and take the time out to do a little homework.

We have 2 Seasons weeks, and have enjoyed some good times, and one particularly bad experience. This was at Clowance, a lovely resort, but as we are owners of a 6/8 bed week, we were shocked to find ourselves allocated a tiny one bed flat, with difficult access. We had to call our son and family to ask them not to come. The on site staff did move us to a larger unit, but still not suitable for more than 4 adults. We were compensated by the offer of an extra week, after returning home and complaining! Recently, we took advantage of an offer of a mid week break at Clowance (£25). The log cabin was lovely, well equipped, and spacious, with lovely views.
The cottages at Whitbarrow are lovely, and the resort is very well laid out. Friends who joined us there for a holiday wanted to move in! The Forest Hills resort was good too.
The biggest gripe we have with Seasons is that we do not qualify for short breaks (except when on special offer), because we bought second hand. To me, this is rather like buying a 3 bed house, but being allowed the use of only 2 because we didn't buy it new! We pay the same maintenance as those who do have full use.
I do feel that we are paying more for less - the resort in Portugal is no longer showing, and some time ago, a Turkish resort suddenly dropped off the site.

I am not a member of Seasons, but my wife and I traded into Seasons at Knocktopher Abbey in Ireland through DAE and really enjoyed it.

We used to own at Clowance. Several years ago, we exchanged into Clowance. When we turned up, we found that we had been allocated a semi detached 'lodge'.  I can't remember the exact number but it ended in a or b.  It was one of the worst units I have ever stayed in in timeshare. The bedroom was in the roof of the lodge and had two child size beds up there. Totally unsuitable for adults to sleep in.
We complained to reception but they refused to move us even though we owned a 2 bedroom peak week there.
We complained to RCI upon our return and got a partial refund of points. Those lodges should never be advertised as one bedroom. We had to sleep on the sofa bed!
We discovered that Seasons had taken over the resort that week.
Maintenance fees starting rising quite quickly (and they weren't low beforehand) and we were lucky enough to sell for a fair enough sum.
