Travel services firm Cox & Kings said it has agreed to provide 'ancillary travel services' to RCI, considered the largest timeshare holiday network in the world.

Cox & Kings will provide various facilities to Indian members of the RCI network, including visa processing, air tickets and transfers.

The Indian timeshare holiday market is currently dominated by players like Mahindra & Mahindra and Sterling Holidays, with limited participation for international players.

"The concept of vacation ownership is fast gaining ground in India with an increasing number of vacationers finding timeshare more appealing and cost-effective," said Cox and Kings, which is the largest offline travel agency in India.

The Indian company will leverage its existing infrastructure to provide the services to RCI's India members.

This includes over 170 offices across India in the key tourism source markets, as well as a 24X7 call centre. Both can be used by RCI members.

"This tie-up with Cox & Kings will enable RCI members in India who have booked their timeshare vacations overseas to enjoy the various travel related services seamlessly," said Aruna Jathar, Director- Marketing, RCI India.

The time share concept involves joint custody of properties by several families. The properties, usually located in hill stations, beaches and other holiday destinations, are then 'shared' by the families based on a time table.

RCI is considered the leader in vacation exchange with over 4,300 affiliated resorts in nearly 110 countries.

It is also credited with pioneered the concept of vacation exchange in 1974, offering members increased flexibility and versatility with their vacation ownership experience.

It currently has a week-for-week exchange system as well as a points-based program.

The global network is estimated to have about 3.8 million members.

It also runs a luxury exchange program with around 200 affiliated properties.

The company is part of Wyndham Destination Network and the Wyndham Destinations.

Cox & Kings is a 261-year-old travel company.
