Title: Changing from RCI Points to Spice
Post by: Katrina on November 06, 2011, 11:05:30
Has anyone got any comments about changing from RCI Points to Spice?

Hi Katrina

I would go and look at the MORPS website - www.morps.org/forum - and see the messages that have been posted there.  You should be able to read the messages without having to register as a member (it is free though).  They are in the 'General Issues' section and also the 'Help, I have a problem' section.

Someone else has also mentioned the SPICE offer in another thread in this section, to which I have responded.

Spice is a points club of the notorious Club Leisure Group run by Stuart ''The Bullfrog'' Lamont of South Africa and they have an awful reputation there.

Hi Katrina,  Spice is not only run by the people mentioned above , the product also includes Club la Costa , most cruise lines , you will also be a member of II and Dial an Exchange along with alot more companies too many to write on here now, you will not have any other exchange fees so RCI etc now become free of fees etc as they are part of the club, the package gives you more freedom as you can use any of the companies resorts involved, what you need to look at is the amount your spending now give you what you want and will you benefit from joining , personally if you enjoy timeshare enviroments then yes... and you also get a 180 day get out clause anytime during the mambership which is something many owners do not have the option of. Hope this helps .

peachie.
I hope that you can now see that because there are so many unanswered questions about the Spice product this has lead to a build up of distrust which is now beginning to attract people from other forums and indeed we now have South African negative involvement.
Because of the internet and forums such as timesharetalk, if a product has negative elements they will get found out and publicised and failing to explain new products fully and as early as possible automatically puts potential customers on the back foot and on their guard.

This forum has millions of reads per annum and for many in Europe is the first place to look when researching a timeshare product.
If you google the product you will find that the timesharetalk and Morps forums are both in the top 5 and in fact are the first 2 independent sites to visit in order to research the product.

In consequence the SPICE product has probably suffered great harm simply because of your guarded responses and failure to reply to simple questions about it.

That`s another thing creating a negative eneri.
Spice using "consultants" running out of dodgy offices which are indelibly connected to well known, and much publicised in the past, alleged rogue traders.
Very unprofessional to say the least.

To get a handle on how things (particularly points clubs) run by Stuart ''The Bullfrog'' Lamont operate, take a look at this thread:

http://www.timeshareforums.com/forums/south-africa-south-american-timeshares-all-other-areas/93039-takeover-attempt-dikhololo.html

or this one:

I would run, not walk, away from ANY Lamont operation!
